Bob hawkes

MSPT

Bob founded Sportsmed Physical Therapy in 1992. His reputation for personal care and deep understanding of human anatomy has made him a true asset to the rehabilitation community. His emphasis on patient education has improved patient compliance and outcomes. The proper dosage of exercises is vital. Bob individualizes the frequency, duration and intensity of each therapeutic exercise for an optimal outcome. He has been the Woods Cross High School physical therapist of choice for the past 30 years. Bob also makes custom orthotics to relieve foot and leg pain. He loves helping everyone in the community, from the younger athletes to the the older patients who just want to keep moving.

BOB LARSEN

MPT, ATC

Bob has been a partner at Sportsmed since 1996. He is also an Athletic Trainer and has worked with professional, Olympic, NCAA and high school athletes for over 25 years. He certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) in 2007. He has been the Athletic Trainer at Bountiful High School for many years and enjoys working with young athletes. He works with all operative and preventive orthopedics and sports-related injuries including: shoulder, knee, ankle, hip and spine. In his spare time he enjoys outdoor activities, sports, family and reading.

JOEL Winters

MSPT

After graduation, Joel spent four years working for two different physical therapy practices in Fremont and San Jose, California. Joel joined Sportsmed in 1992. He is the former Vice President of the Utah Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association. In this capacity, he worked with renowned physical therapists from across the country. Joel also founded an orthopedic study series in 1996 with Pepper Murray, M.D., and Kim Reid, P.T., providing outstanding continuing education for local physical therapists. He specializes in all orthopedic and sports-related injuries including spine, shoulder, hip, knee and foot. As a former collegiate athlete, Joel understands the importance of returning athletes to the sports they love. He particularly enjoys rehabilitating throwing athletes. His interests include spending time with family, traveling, hiking, biking, music and reading.

HEIDI TIDWELL

MPT, ATC

Heidi joined Sportsmed in 2019. She has worked in a variety of outpatient acute rehab, long-term rehab and home healthcare settings focusing on orthopedics. She mentored under Dave Ostyee, CHT, at Sportsmed and received her certified hand therapy (CHT) certification in 2020. She treats all hand and upper extremity conditions. In her spare time, she enjoys boating, skiing, running and spending time with her family.
